The Regional Resiliency Program
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES IN LOWER NORTHWEST MICHIGAN
Julienne Tomatoes in Petoskey, the Conservatory of Dance in Manistee, Cornerstone Coffee in Manton, Yoga Bellaire in Bellaire, Northern Auto & Tire in Honor, Leelanau Tea in Suttons Bay, Northport Fitness in Leelanau Township…some of the hundreds of recipients of Regional Resiliency Program (RRP) grants during 2020-2021.
Grants made by Venture North based solely on review and recommendations by local teams throughout the ten counties. A program that granted funding where the due diligence was based on the objective opinion of community members.
Over $1 million – all from generous giving and awards – ranging from $200,000 to $200 – with one aim: to provide grants of up to $5,000 to encourage and financially support small businesses with nine or fewer employees to stay in business, to continue to be the economic heartbeat of northwest Michigan.
While uncertainties and the need for safety persist, Venture North is determined to meet small businesses where they are on the resiliency to recovery and growth curve to encourage, help and support.
How the Regional Resiliency Fund
partnered to help local businesses
in Northwest Lower Michigan
"Dealing with and adapting to the pandemic, the store hasn’t really missed a beat." And that’s resonated with patrons. "Families are just really grateful that they’re able to have a fairly normal experience with their kids."
– Paula Allen
